I’m in a glass case of emotion! Or at least a wheel of emotions…

Here’s a handy little resource I came across awhile ago and it’s been a rather useful tool for me, so I thought I would share.

Word Wheel

  1. Hi Sarah,

This looks interesting, how would/do you use it? – In character generation, or finding synonyms or just looking for an emotion to describe someone with?

    • A lot of time words fail to come to me (at least interesting ones), so this is just a quick little tool I use to find synonyms for emotions without going to the thesaurus. I often “act out” facial expressions my characters make and see if any of the words on the wheel apply to it. I find the wheel just a good tool for digging deeper into my characters’ emotions, to allow something more significant and telling than basic fear or happiness or whatnot.
